The next stop on my fully paid vacation was to Oakland Army Terminal, then Travis Air Force Base, then refueling stops in Honolulu, Hawaii and Kadena Air Base in Okinawa and finally in to Bien Hoa Air Base. Bien Hoa was the starting point for many replacements that were flown to Vietnam from the States. From Bien Hoa Air Base the troops were bused a short distance to the 90th Replacement Battalion in nearby Long Binh Post for in-country assignment.
