Dan Linn and 7 or 8 other replacements departed LZ Betty in a C-7 Caribou for a very bumpy flight to City Field, Ban Me Thuot on 1 Dec 69 to join the rest of the battalion that was OPCON to the 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division working road clearing missions (Operation Road Runner) on Highway QL21.
